I liked this photo, because it looked like Mom was having fun with that cake (couldn't see Dad's expression). I don't think it could possibly have been what was in the freezer at 213 King Street. There were no freezers available - at least to college teachers - in the 1920's when they were married.

The cake that Mom is feeding dad was baked by James Fulmer, a neighbor who lived around the corner on Monroe St. and owned a Bakery. He was Elise's uncle. I think I remember a small piece of the original (1926) wedding cake that was saved in a dry state in a waxed paper bag in one of the storage trunks. Leland or Loren, do you remember this?

The wedding cake was stored in an old trunk inside an old cosmetic powder container. It is possible that the 74 year old piece of cake is still around and in that trunk which is in my attic. I remember fondly Grandmommy showing me many times all of the contents of that trunk including the cake.
