Taylor talked her parents into bringing her back to the States for a visit. They moved to Western Australia when she (and the rest of the gang) were about 18 months old. Really, I think Nannette and Adam wanted to come back and visit with their Yank friends. After a little while to get over her shyness with all the new kids (all of whom were prepped for meeting Taylor again), Taylor and the rest of the gang had a great time. | ||||||||
There was some boy stuff to be done (well, the boys got to the piano first) while there was some girl stuff to be done, but eventually they all were just running around having fun. Romeo's playroom was the big hit it always is: piano, tent, shopping cart, huge pillow to jump into... | ||||||||
...but spring has sprung. Well, it started out pretty cool today, but if you were running around outside, it was very nice. There were some Calvin-ball games in the front yard. | ||||||||
Then Romeo was sharing his rubber-band powered gliders when Robert managed to land a plane on the top of their roof. Roy pulled a ladder out of the garage and went up for the rescue. Clearly the moms were also having a good time: no one came out to see why there was a ladder going up to the roof. At one point, Robert went in to convince the girls to come out and watch the football game. It didn't take too long before they joined in. I could have won if it wasn't 3 against 1... | ||||||||
There is a history, dating back to the informal group of new moms in the neighborhood, of lining up the kids for a couch photo. That's Robert second from the left and Caroline on the far right (in 2004). | ||||||||
And Taylor's first birthday party (which coincides with Robert's first birthday as well) was another couch photo occasion. That's Caroline and Robert on the left and Taylor in the middle. So, of course, we had to stage another couch photo session. This time the line up is: Romeo, Evan, Caroline, Taylor and Robert (left to right). Of course, at 4 and half, they are less willing to stay still very long... | ||||||||
