This year we spent Christmas at home. It was a very relaxing and mellow Christmas -- I'm sure that will change over time. Robert got excited opening presents for while but he was ready to play with the new stuff (and the boxes the new stuff came with) before we ran out of things to open.
We hung Robert's stocking (and our socks) off the mantle and spread the presents in front of the fireplace -- leaving our Christmas tree, the ficus, in the dining room. Perhaps next year we'll feel better about having a fire in the fireplace -- so far we've avoided adding that danger to Robert's playroom (the ex-living room).
We got books and baskets and little rock quarry; Robert had a great time playing with them all (often all at once).
Robert got some cool pants for summer wear (we don't think he'll out grow them before then. | And we got a set of bamboo wind chimes that look too nice to put outside but sound too nice to leave inside -- such dilemmas we have....
Sarah has been lamenting the disappearance of our kite (hidden away by the basement trolls) the last couple of months. She seemed to enjoy her new one (and Robert enjoyed watching her fly it -- from a safe distance).
Nanette and Taylor came by on the Tuesday between Christmas and New Year's. Robert and Taylor get along great, as do Nanette and Sarah (and we all like Adam). We'll miss them when they leave next month, but we're looking forward to visiting them in Secret Harbour, WA (that's Western Australia, not Washington state).
