This year, Robert's paternal grandparents were here for our trip to see the Christmas train display at the US Botanic Gardens. Last year, we went by after Christmas. This year the new outdoor garden was open, and the weather was too warm for December, so we all enjoyed the new garden and the outdoor train display. | ||||||||
I think we were all surprised to see the trains outside. But the weather was great and it gave the train viewers a lot more space to spread out. | ||||||||
There were no overhead trains inside this year, but a huge snowy mountain full of children's stories. Including Rapunzel and her hair (below on the right). | ||||||||
The mountain was just inside the main doors and everyone took a long look at all the houses, castles,
people, creatures and trains circling the mountain. You might think it could be a bit overwhelming.... | ||||||||
On our way home, after admiring all the Washington DC replica buildings in the Botanic Gardens, we stopped off at the Carousel -- since it was such a nice day afterall... | ||||||||
