We trundled over to the tree lot, picked out a tree and carried it home this morning. Sarah and I
strung the lights while Robert and Jonathan were running around. Then Jonathan and his family went
to get their tree and Sarah had a Christmas party to go to. So Robert and I started decorating the tree.
It was Robert's idea to decorate by the lights of the tree -- I think it was a great idea.
He was not as dirty as that last photo makes him look -- and no teeth lost yet, but clearly it's time.

And the finished product -- after we added a few more ornaments with Sarah's help. Zip drive spent some
quality time under the tree today. I'll see if I can get a photo of him in his lair tomorrow.

A couple days after the raising of the Christmas tree, Robert brought home his first loose tooth.
It's pretty exciting, and of course, we had to read
One Morning in Maine
for the bedtime story. It's pretty much sticking straight out, but hasn't fallen all the way out yet after
a couple of days.

Robert's loose tooth was hanging in there on Friday. That was the big school winter festival.
This year, as a first grader, he and his class got to sing "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch." Always fun.

The Grinch snuck into the gym and started causing problems: stealing star wands from the junior kindergartners,
plucking hats and ribbons from girl's hair, tying up scarves in knots. Generally being Grinchy. The First
Graders gave him a good talking to and he skulked off back to his lair. Then the kids, having saved the day, marched
back to their places for rest of the show (each class does a tribute to a different culture or religion).
