After our two big storms, the temperatures have started to climb a bit as proven by the sheet of ice covering the back of the house. I'm exaggerating, but not much. After a couple photos I did break up a lot of this -- the big icicle hanging from the gutter is still there and still looking very threatening. Most of the streets have been plowed now, and the main roads have mostly pavement showing -- but there are still lanes missing even on the major roads. And some of the residential streets seem not to have been touched yet.
We got a call about 45 minutes before Robert's weekly karate class saying the class was on. There's nothing like a couple huge snowstorms to ensure individual attention. There were actually 3 in the class after Robert's -- he wanted to stay and watch them so we did. I'm still not sure I'm a big fan of the classes but I'm sure the discipline and additional adult role model are good for him. (I should probably get over it but I'm just not too comfortable with the Sensei talking about all the different ways to kick the "bad guy.")
Friday the federal government was open again (after being closed for 4 days); fortunately with Sarah in New Jersey, Robert's school had their after care program running all day (no regular classes until Tuesday now). As long as the snow predicted for Monday remains light, we'll continue to thaw out and recover -- I'm ready for a week or two without fresh snowfall. A few more sledding photos from the school.
