The Fourth of July was pretty hot with intermittent storms this year. After letting the morning storm pass by, we headed over to Maury School for the Rosemont celebration. Clearly, the Rosemont Association had been out doing their work, putting up hundreds of flags lining Commonwealth and most of the side streets (not ours for some reason).
The main attraction in the school playground was the Wizard Castle moon bounce. But they also had a dunking booth, squirt gun target practice and lots of munchies in addition to the regular playground equipment. The turnout was pretty good and there was lots of red, white and blue on display.
Since discovering he linked Snow-cones in Florida, Robert talked his way into two Snow-cones while playing there. He also ran into his friends Romeo, Ciaran and Caroline.
After some time to cool off at home, we went over to Caroline's house (well, really Chad and Elizabeth's house) for a lovely dinner. The kids enjoyed themselves in the basement (that's Robert in his doggy towel/cape, Caroline jumping from couch to bean bag and Ciaran taking photos) and the adults could chat and admire Romeo's new baby brother Miles and Caroline's less new baby sister Ellie. After returning home, Robert was pretty tired (not unexpectedly) and we didn't try too, too hard to wake him up for the fireworks. We did record the TV coverage so he watched that the next morning.
