Robert's paternal grandparents stopped by in October on their way from Seven Devils, North Carolina
to Portland, Oregon (and points north). In the early part of the month, on their way out, it was
down-right hot; but clear with lots of blue sky. We make a quick trip to the zoo to look at the
seal and sea lions now that one of Robert's favorite books is Sammy the Seal (turns out he's
really a sea lion -- seals don't have ears and don't bark, according to the National Zoo).
|
After the zoo (seals, sea lions and sitting on a bear statue), we had a lot of fun playing with Robert's
trains (thanks, once again Aaron).

On their trip back to NC, 10 days later, the weather had turned cooler, but still very clear and blue skies.
We headed to Bulter's Orchard again for the Pumpkin fest.
They had slides, a hay loft to jump around in, kid-sized tractors to drive around...

And Pony Rides!
It's hard to say who had more fun with the pony ride: Robert, who really enjoyed it and didn't want to get
off, or Sarah who has fond memories of her days as a horse fanatic.

They also had a petting zoo where Robert fed the sheep and goats.

And a hay bail maze that was a lot of fun for Robert (and parents and grandparents) to run around in. And
we topped it all off with a hay ride through the pumpkin patch. A great time was had by all.
