This was the 15th annual Art on the Avenue in Del Ray. Robert scootered
and I walked over while Sarah was doing some organizing around the house. Shortly after we got into the show, we saw
a sign for an open house at the firehouse. That was the highlight.

Robert was able to get in the navigator's seat of an ambulance, practice his firefighting skills with a hose,
drive a firetruck (OK, it wasn't actually going anywhere), check out the seats and tanks behind the driver and
try to make sense of all the dial and levers.

He said he wanted a parachute to help him get down from the trucks -- that last step is a pretty big one.
|
After all that excitement, we found a booth that was set up for kids to do a little painting. Robert really enjoyed
the silicon paint dispersal tool -- sorry, I don't know that to call it. After you've put some paint down, you can
swirl and mix or texturize it with the silicon brush like thing.

We even had time to check out the Zydeco band before meeting Sarah for a trip to a planetarium (followed by a return to
Art on the Avenue to pick up Robert's dried painting).
