Minutes of the 75th Williams-Tyler reunion, May 2, 2015 | ||||||||
President Jimmy Williams opened the reunion by welcoming all to the 75th Williams-Tyler reunion. Faye Miller gave a devotion on the attributes of a strong family. The treasurer's report was given by Bragg Williams:
Various family heads introduced members in attendance from both the Williams and Tyler families. One marriage was announced, that of Charles Williams. There was one death, that of Margaret Shecut Williams. The program, Early Memories (of reunions) as given by June and Donna Tyler. They told of having fun as children at the reunions at the river, especially on the rope swing! Leland also had fond memories of the old shed, great food, watermelon football in the river and caramel cake. A side note was that BB Williams, Sr. had Coca-Cola stock at one time and we would all have been rich today if he had decided not to sell the stock. President Jimmy Williams made a plea for family members to update their information. He closed the meeting by reading the conclusion of Uncle Wyman's book and then asking God's blessing on the meal. (Approximately 40 attendees, but there was no sign in.) |
