Su-un-day, In the park…… Today I’m just posting a few shots of Robert’s day for his Grandmamama Sarah and his Grandpoppop Loren’s enjoyment. We had a quiet day at home with a few hours well spent at the playground around the corner, and a brief foray over to Whole Foods market for some treats and lunch. Robert misses his daddy but is doing a great job of keeping his mommy company. He is a good boy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the North Carolina clan. More later. (PS. He built that block tower from scratch while Mommy was cleaning up from dinner. Not exactly fullfilling the ‘please put away your toys’ request but I thought it was cute anyway.) As usual, click on the picture to get a better view of it. |

Awareness of time -excuse for gratuitous David and Robert Picture Skip entry if you’re afraid of cuteness. It’s interesting to see Robert develop awareness of time. We were walking by these yellow flowers again this evening as David made his way towards North Carolina and his Mom when Robert said, “Daddy? Daddy and Robert -yehyoh fwowers.” He was thinking about the few days before when I took this shot. |

Robert ‘the jackel’ Williams and friend plan their moves “You go ‘round the back and I’ll storm the Marine Corps band”, said the teddy bears. You can’t see it in this picture but we later de-coatified Ciaron so he could flash the White House with his “I already know more than the president” tee-shirt.! |

Hmm, made it past the guard… This looks like a nice house. Maybe in a few more years I’ll run it. (From behind the scenes of course, don’t want to be one of those nasty politicians.) As usual, you can click on the picture to get a larger view of it. |

Demise of Penn Quarter Also while I was away David attended an ‘all-parents’ meeting at Robert’s daycare and was informed that, horror of horrors, PQ had lost their lease and would be closing in two months. David was e-mailing the proceedings to me while I sat in the back of my Arizona meeting and when that news came across I rather loudly exclaimed, “WHAT!!!!!?” I excused myself and the others returned to discussing various measures of return on investment for earned media coverage. The turmoil and stress that this has caused the families and staff of PQ cannot be overstated. Below I came across Robert’s class practicing their ‘walking in a line’ skills. They have a ways to go yet but they sure are cute. (Click on the picture to get a better look at it.) |

But life goes on So despite all the travel turmoils, and the daycare crises and Mommy’s never-ending cold (caught no doubt from all that healthy airplane air and from all the little strangers in the daycare centers she is touring in hopes that they might have a place by 2007 for him,) despite all that there is still time for friends on the playground. And this is a very good thing. |

Stuck a feather in his hat and and called it macaronni. Upon my return the front porch renovation progressed rapidly and we all are able to play on it during nice evenings. Here Robert decides to put the proverbial feather in his still stylin hat to the amusement of all present. |

Business trips are… … less fun than I remember. I had hoped that since I had to travel to Arizona for work that I would at least get a restful night in and maybe order some nice room service. But DC weather had other ideas and after missing my connection for the last flight out from Dallas Ft.Worth I spent a few fitfull hours in an airport hotel there before heading out to catch the oh-dark-thirty flight to my meeting in the morning. After all that I was only 15 minutes late for the start of it. Still, I got a nice look at the sunrise over DFW terminal C walkway. |
