Consistency… I’m not sure I’m making progress; last year it was “offer code invalid for recipient 1” when I didn’t use an offer code. The year it was “PT REQUIRED (NO TERM VAL) WITH OPT LEVEL DIGT DEMO OFFERS” — no matter which term I selected; though all the terms were the same 12 issues. Of course it would be nice to know what the difference between options 1 and 3 is (clearly option 2 is $20 cheaper for the same thing). Ah well… I’m sure this will be straightened out over the next several days. |

Beautiful Day for the River So we headed to Angler’s Inn and got there without incident (I think Rolling Thunder was just winding down). And we ended up in a prime parking spot — impressive for such a popular day to be out. The river is still a little high from last weekend’s storm. But the level is headed down.We paddled up and then ferried across the Virginia shoot several times. It was a little too high for swimming (and the path the jumping off spot was well guarded by a snaking resting on a tree trunk. And Golf Ball Island — we named it last year — was pretty much underwater. That’s where Robert stepped out of the canoe and climbed on the back of Sarah’s kayak. |

Happy Birthday!!! She was up in NJ for her actual birthday, so we celebrated a day late — but had no less fun! |

Lead Soloist He was joined by the Flutes and Clarinet for Bingo; it was great to see him on stage doing so well. |

Aqua Obstacle So much for the head-to-head races. And with no first place finish on the line, there was no incentive to be fast. Careful and meticulous were the typical watchwords. That slowed things down. Then a new round of lifeguards came on duty and Robert and I tied 1 and 1 (though I did give him a pretty big head start on the race I lost). One nice bonus this time, Sarah alerted the usual suspects and Evan and a friend came out. It was great to see him again. I’m sorry I missed Sue. |

Archaeologist for a Day We took a trip to Maryland’s Eastern Shore this weekend on another Johns Hopkins kid’s program adventure. This time learning lots about archaeology; more photos in vacations. The weather and staff of Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum conspired to make it a great day — topped off by dinner at nearby Solomons Island. |
