White Christmas in Atlanta

We drove down to Atlanta for Christmas this year. The drive was long but probably not a whole lot longer than it would take to fly if you add in the getting to and from the airport on time (and the strong potential for delays on our trip back as the storm came up the coast on the 26th). Post dinner stupor

We were invited to a post-Christmas / pre-New Year’s party at Romeo and Miles’s house tonight. While the adults were talking schools, discipline and kid’s chores, the kids were downstairs watching Thomas the Tank Engine.

Whole New Smile

Six days of wiggling and the tooth is gone. Robert says it feels even more weird than it did when it was loose.

He also says, “ROBERT LOST HIS FIRST TOOTH!!!”

No need to worry about collisions between the tooth fairy and Santa Claus now — their visits are safely separated by days.

Christmas vacation…

… and the living is easy. Robert is off to a great start (maybe not a very nutritional start) to vacation. We ran some errands (after fortifying ourselves) while Sarah had to work. She’s a little under the weather and we’re hoping she’ll kick the cold in time to enjoy her upcoming time off.

(And if you’re keeping track: that tooth is still hanging in there — but I’m sure not for much longer…)

Schools Out…

…for winter. Today was the big school winter festival (and last day of class for 2010). Robert’s class had the honor of singing “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” More photos in Robert’s section.

First Loose Tooth

We think this may have been his first tooth as well. I expect the tooth fairy has her eye on Robert.

Robert is pretty psyched: he may be the only kid in his class to lose a tooth in December. Speaking of December, Sarah said he was a little worried if he lost it Christmas eve, the tooth fairy and Santa Claus might run into each other, both coming to our house. I don’t think it’s going to hang in there another 10 days.

Christmas Tree

We picked out our tree this morning and waited until dark to decorate it. I like Robert’s idea of decorating by the lights of the tree; that was a lot of fun. Just a couple more photos in Robert’s section.
