Ian and Sophie's Wedding June 2022 | |
---|---|
For our second wedding this summer, we drove up to the Catskills in New York to celebrate with Ian and Sophie. We had time and decided to stop off in NYC on the way to see how off-Broadway treats Little Shop of Horrors; it was great show and very nice way to break up the drive. Robert was impressed by the set; they have a larger budget both in time and money than his (now old) high school. | |
The next day, we stopped by The Cloisters as it was on the way out of town. As with the play, they preferred their patrons to be masked (although Broadway just dropped that expectation). It was lovely both inside and out. We arrived at Full Moon Resort just almost exactly at check-in time. After we dropped off our bags in our lovely suite, we took a tour of grounds (and found the billiard room) before the lovely welcome dinner. | |
The dinner was followed by s'mores around the fire; which really rounded out a very nice evening of visiting with family and new friends. The next morning, we wandered more of the grounds, enjoyed some spike ball, Frisbee, and visiting a bit more before dressing for the ceremony. The weather was as spectacular as the location! | |
The ceremony was lovely and it seemed both perfect and touching for Ian Brown to officiate. The reception was fun with tasty food and a great band. Robert reports the after party was also a blast, and we heard the after-after party was hopping, for those still conscious. | |
It's great to have such wonderful occasions to break out the McNaughton wear :) | |
