We were invited back to Assateague Island by Robert's classmate this year. Like last year, it was a lot of fun. This year, Robert showed off both his flat water (towed behind the canoe) and white water (ocean waves) boogie boarding techniques. Last year he was not that interested in being the waves; this year he was having a blast and really enjoyed being "chundered".
It was, as last year, a large camping group (rumor was 180 signed up for dinner Saturday night). But a really good crew and this being the 22nd year, well organized. We had our little spot of sand for our tents. If you compare with last year you'll note that the Eureka tent Robert was using (which David got in college) is no longer with us -- after 25 years the zipper started to fail on our last overnight trip.
While we saw ponies this year, they were not wandering through the campsite as they did last year. And we had no stampedes across the beach as we did last year.
However, this fawn did like the taste of the vegetation around the campsite. This little guy hung around for while nibbling and posing for pictures.
