This year, someone else had the group campgrounds booked for the July 4th week. So our crowd was a week later. And with the extra excitement this year (the Washington Stage wedding and requisite west coast park trip) we didn't have enough vacation to really get settled. The clear benefit, less folks on the beach -- admittedly this was taken kind of early after a damp night.
We headed out Friday noonish and came back Sunday morning. But we had a great time boogie boarding, as you can tell by lack of photographic evidence :) One of the crafts this year was making your own hula hoop. It didn't take Robert to long to get the hang of it. Sarah picked it up a little while later because Robert was clearly having such a good time.
Robert was happy to pass along his new found skill (and loan his homemade hoop) to Zora, who was in our same area of the campground and not too much younger than Robert. We vowed next year to show up mid-week to really enjoy visiting with our sponsor's Robert's classmate Kenna's family. They tend to leave on the Saturday to avoid the closing down chaos and have a little more recovery time at home (and by then, they's already been on the beach a week).
