| Seattle Fall Visit 2023 | |

| Robert finished up his summer course and was more focused on his work for Seattle Ultimate when Sarah and I headed his way. He was back from a week-long overnight camp on Whidbey Island and getting ready to move to his fall dorm. Sarah and I were still on East Coast time Wednesday morning so we took a walk around the campus — always lovely, especially so with great weather. |

Robert arranged for our tickets to see the Mariners play the Athletics for an afternoon game Wednesday. He also showed us the way there and back on the Link. It was a great game (but a little closer than we would have liked). The Mariner's did win and were tied for the league lead at the end of the game. Sarah got this great picture reflected in my sunglasses. |

| The next day, we had evening plans: celebrating David Z.'s birthday. Sarah and I spend the morning checking out the Ballard Locks and checking in on the Salmon. |

| The next day, Sarah and I took advantage of the great weather to wander back down to the water. We got a nice view of the stadium from across the cut and decided to keep walking to the Aboretum and Japanese Gardens. |

| Saturday, we joined the fans for Huskies football. Michael Penix Jr. really is a quarterback to watch. The Dawg Patch seats are at the endzone. And the Huskies scored so much we got to see some great catches (I cropped down photo to show how pretty that touchdown was; there was nothing Boise State could have done). |

| On the Monday before we flew back to Alexandria, we picked up a GigCar and drove up to Deception Pass. The tide slowing down as got there so we missed some of the fun of watching the rapids. It sure is a pretty place. We hiked around a bit: down to the beach, out the point and across the bridge and back. It seems like it would be a fun place to spend more time. |

| Robert, who slept in and missed out on the trip, was Google map stalking us. He called to say we should come back via Fort Casey, where he was teaching ulitimate at the camp a couple weeks earlier. It was on the way back to Seattle (and lined us up for a ferry) so we took his advice. It was a cool spot, with interesting history and great views of Puget Sound. |

| Clearly, with all that fun stuff happening, pretty places to see and nice folks to share it with, we're starting to understand that Robert has found a great home. |
