Sarah, with her new job, had to work during Robert's spring break, but I was able to take the week off. Watching the weather forecast showing less and less nice weather coming our way, we made a last minute decision to head back to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg. It has been a couple years but it was just as much fun (or maybe more fun) this time around. One of Robert's friends from school was able to join us which really made the trip great.
The drive was pleasantly uneventful and the check-in was not too bad, but still kind of slow. The boys were happy to hang out in car will full electronics going while I stood in line. After getting settled and picking up a couple wands (more on that later), we headed to the pools. All the fun stuff was in full swing, the lazy river (perfect for controlled games of tag), the surf wave (with some awesome wipe-outs), the slides and the wave pool. (And I got to play more with the waterproof camera.)
We did a little bit of Magic Quest the day we arrived (before the pool), but Tuesday started with finishing up the quests.
Robert and Will teamed up against the dragon (one on the rune buttons, one on the wand). They both seemed to really enjoy it and got along great. And both Robert and Wild Will showed up on the daily leader boards while we were there. Of course, that was just a brief interruption to the time in the pools.
You can't have spring break without some video game time (at least it's really hard in this day and age). There was a lot of Jetpack Joyride when we were not in the pool (like after it closed).
I think I have work to do on my technique for photos inside the slide... A good reason to go back again, sometime. We packed up and then headed to the pools for the last morning we were there. After an hour and half, we managed to time it perfectly and close the door with the last of our bags just as the clock said 11:00 (check out time). Again the drive back was delightfully uneventful with a couple tired boys in the back.
